The Henry Ford Virtual Verbal Description Program - The Golden Age of Diners
Date: Tuesday, August 13
Time: 2-3:30 pm EDT
During their heyday in the 1930s and 1940s, diners were considered one of
the most democratic eating places, and the few that remain still carry that
connotation. Donna Braden, former Senior Curator at The Henry Ford, will
recount the story of diners from this golden age, with a special focus on
Henry Ford Museum's historic Lamy's Diner and rare, recently acquired
materials in the museum's current exhibit, "Dick Gutman, Dinerman."
This experience will be conducted remotely in verbal description and
conversation. The program will be held via Zoom and will be accessible by
web link and call-in phone number, depending on your preference.
This program is free. Reservations are required and space is limited. Please
email accessibility at thehenryford.org <mailto:accessibility at thehenryford.org>
or call 313-982-6168 to register and with any questions.
Thank you!
Caroline
