Good evening Federation friends and family,

We hope this email finds you well. Thanks to considerable efforts from the
Capital Region Chapter, we have been made aware that legislation that
Senator Sam Singh has been working on for several years is up for a hearing
in the House Judiciary Committee tomorrow (Wed) morning at 10:30 am.

The bill centers around the safety of blind pedestrians, notably increasing
the penalty for those who have been struck by motor vehicles in both
construction and school zones. Senator Singh's office has requested for a
small number of Federationists to provide testimonials about how this bill
will be pivotal for enhancing the lives of blind Michiganders.

If you are interested in joining a small sub-committee in providing a
testimonial, please contact our state president no later than this evening
by either emailing him at:

president at nfbmi.org <mailto:president at nfbmi.org> or send him a text at:
(269) 216-8640.

Ather Jammoa

National Federation of the Blind of Michigan Communications Committee Chair
