Good Morning Federation Family and Friends,

I hope this message finds you waking up to a crisp day with a full weekend
ahead of you. The National Federation of the Blind of Michigan knows that
that for some of you, this includes heading to the city of Kalamazoo to join
us for our quarterly state board meeting held at our convention site. I have
included a few quick notes for our guests and board members who are coming
in from out of town:

*	The 2024 NFBMI state convention and this Saturday's meeting will be
held at the Radisson Plaza at Kalamazoo Center. The address is 100 W.
Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
*	Members who are arriving via Amtrak or Greyhound/Indian Trails have
a variety of options to get to the hotel (Uber, Lift, Walking Distance,
etc.).
*	The meeting begins at 12pm and will last approximately three hours
or so. As this is our convention site, attendees often visit the meeting so
that they can get an idea of what the hotel will bring in November.
*	The meeting will take place on the second floor of the hotel in the
restaurant, "The Morning Dish," which will be empty of service during our
meeting time.
*	Attendees that arrive early can take advantage of the breakfast
buffet that is offered at the restaurant if interested. The hotel also
boasts a Starbucks and additional options if the buffet does not interest
you.

While we do have an enlightening agenda, I want to caution our attendees
that this is a business meeting and our board of directors, delegates and
officers are aware of our visitors' time in Kalamazoo. Following our meeting
at 3:30pm, I invite all attendees to join our affiliate in a dinner outing
at "Old Burdick's." Some quick tips about the restaurant:

*	It is located on the first floor of the hotel and is a potential
location for our "Tour of Kalamazoo" activity on Thursday evening of state
convention.
*	It makes a delicious peanut burger with jalapeno jelly.
*	It is close enough to the Kalamazoo transit center that our visitors
will be able to make their transportation going east smoothly.

So, whether you are taking the 5:26pm train toward Pontiac or the 7:03pm
toward Flint; we are going to make space for everyone to have a great time
and get prepared for all our state convention will bring this year. As
always, if you have questions about state convention, please send emails to
convention at nfbmi.org <mailto:convention at nfbmi.org> and if you are in
Kalamazoo this weekend and have questions or challenges, please feel free to
reach me via text or phone. I look forward to all we accomplish, together.

With Love, Hope and Determination,
