Calling All White Canes

It's official!!! The National Federation of the Blind's Detroit Chapter for
Blindness Equality and Achievement Month (BEAM) will be stepping out for a
fun filled Get To Know The Blind skating event. Bring your blind and sighted
friends, and join us:

When: Saturday October 5th

Where: Northland Roller Rink

                22311 W 8 Mile Rd. Detroit.

Time: 1 - 4 PM

Cost: $7 for entry into the rink

$3 for skate rental (you may bring your own skates if they have
not been worn outside)

It's going down at the skating rink. Of course, there will be food and
refreshments for sale. We will have some volunteers on-hand to assist those
who want to skate, or you can bring someone with you to assist you with
skating. We are not fund raising with this event. This is the normal cost
for all as we will be attending a general skate session with the public. How
else are they going to meet us and see us during BEAM.

If you are not interested in skating, come anyway. Rent some skates, for the
group picture with the Detroit Chapter. These pictures of the group holding
white canes, will be shared on the NFB Detroit Group page. Purchase a NFB
Detroit Chapter T-shirt for $25 to wear during this photo opportunity. Don't
miss out on some fun and fellowship during BEAM.

If you would like to purchase a T-Shirt or have questions about this event,
please contact the Chapter's Google Line at (313) 723-0632.

Don't Miss Out On This Event!!
