The Snacker's Select
Vol 6: Big Pop, Hard Stop.
Happy Monday and welcome, Michigan Federationists to the finale of the
Snacker's Select. It has been an eventful weekend and the 2025 Kernel Kraze
was interesting. To give a blow-by-blow, I'd say it began somewhat
uneventful but became completely unpredictable by the end of the weekend.
Look:
Total Funds Raised: $1447
Total States Reached: 9
Total Bags Donated: 4
Michigan Blind Seniors: $531 Raised
Flint Genesee Chapter: $311 Raised
New Wayne County Chapter: $218 Raised
MIABS $197 Raised
At Large Chapter: $190 Raised
This weekend was amazing and every member that actively participated in
helping their chapter or division promote their virtual store should be so
proud of their efforts. I am so excited of the work we continue to do to
support each other on the way to turn dreams into reality. Now, certain
chapters and divisions think they have certain bragging rights, but the 2025
Kernel Kraze will operate a little differently. The Snacker's Select is
happy to aware this year's superlatives, or affiliate awards to superstar
performers during this fundraiser:
Kernel Krusher: Michigan Blind Seniors
The Kernel Krusher is the chapter or division that outperformed all others
during the 2025 Kernel Kraze. Huge congrats to the Michigan seniors and Ms.
Faye Chenault-Johnson, our Senior fundraising store coordinator, for all
their hard work.
Persistent Popcorn: MIABS
The Persistent Popcorn is the chapter or division that kept pace with all
others in both recruitment and reach throughout the sales window, ultimately
generating sales success. Congratulations to our Michigan Association of
Blind Students and Shaneice Milledge, their board member, for their hard
work in promoting their virtual store.
Creepy Kettle-Cooked: New Wayne County Chapter
The Creepy Kettle is the chapter or division that is or has been
underestimated throughout the Kernel Kraze. During the sales window, the
chapter or division may not generate much energy, but during the final,
late-night window they startle the competition with success. Somewhat
creepy, like a ghost; but sweet like kettle corn.
Congratulations to all our participants and we look forward to next year's
Kernel Kraze.
With Love, Hope and Determination,
Robert
