Amplify Your Skills. Help Blind Students Thrive.
The National Federation of the Blind believes in the capabilities of blind
students. We are dedicated to raising expectations in the classroom and
empowering students to realize their dreams.
Our Teachers of Tomorrow program offers professional development for both
current and prospective teachers of blind and low-vision students. Through
mentorship, networking, and direct engagement with the lived experiences and
perspectives of blind people, you will reshape your approach to teaching and
empower your blind and low-vision students to reach their full potential.
As Jodi Dowell, a graduate of our Teachers of Tomorrow program explains:
"The Teachers of Tomorrow program opened my mind to all the possibilities my
students could achieve. This was the first opportunity I had to meet adults
who were blind, who followed their dreams, created their families, and
achieved their goals." - Jodi Dowell
Applications for the 2025-2026 Teachers of Tomorrow cohort close this
Friday, May 2, 2025. Learn more and apply today.

About National Federation of the Blind Education Initiatives
The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines the future of blind and low-vision youth.
Through our extensive education programs, we present blind children with new
ideas, expose teachers and families to our positive philosophy on blindness,
and encourage blind youth to reach their full potential. For more
information about our education programs, please contact us at
