Hello Fellow Federationists,
I'm reaching out today to learn more about your voting experience as we
prepare for our upcoming gathering in Lansing, where we’ll have the chance
to raise our voices together.
Voting is a vital right for all Americans not only to make our voices
heard, but to shape policies that allow us to live full and independent
lives. However, we know that the opportunity to vote isn’t always equally
accessible. As blind individuals, we often encounter barriers that can
compromise our ability to vote privately and independently.
By answering a few questions, you can help us better understand the
challenges we face as Federationists when it comes to voting and more
importantly, help us advocate for meaningful solutions.
If you're open to a short conversation, I’d love to speak with you
directly. You can email me your responses at *samdrau at gmail.com or call
734-674-1467.*
*Questions:*
1.
Do you typically vote in local and state elections? If not, what
prevents you from doing so (e.g., transportation, inaccessible voting
methods, lack of privacy, etc.)?
2.
If you do vote, what voting method do you use (e.g., absentee ballot,
voting machine, online)?
3.
-
3.Please share your experience with your voting method. What works
well for you? What could be improved?
4.
If there were an easier way for you to vote, what would you like to see?
Would demonstrations of voting machines or online voting platforms be
helpful?
Thank you for your time and for contributing to a stronger, more accessible
voting experience for everyone.
In solidarity,
*Sam Rau*
