Good morning Federation family,
I want to make you aware of an event at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra on
May 14th. They're wanting our advice on how to make their performances
accessible for all, and they would appreciate our feedback on improving
things for blind people. For instance this is a fireworks show performed by
the orchestra and pyrotechnics, and they want to know from our perspective
what we're missing; we'll have the opportunity to go backstage and talk
with everyone, and hopefully we'll get them a better picture of our issues
in appreciating say a fireworks display. This should be a very interesting
time and enlightening for them. We will be meeting at 9:00 am for a
rehearsal experience to participate and let them know what accomidations
they can make for us going forward. The whole experience will last about 4
hours, with the possability of going for lunch afterward if there's enough
folks interested. The address is:3711 Woodword Avenue Detroit 48201. If
your interested get in touch with me at samdrau at gmail.com and if there's
enough interest we can perhaps organize transportation... I'm not sure how
we'll accomplish that but if you’re truly interested I'm sure we'll find a
way. Thanks; hope to see you there.
