Message From the Vice President: Riley Letterman
I would like to welcome you all to the second installment of the MIABS Mosaic. This weekly newsletter is designed to ensure that all of our amazing members are kept up to date on the latest information and happenings of the MIABS division.
Just as a mosaic is made up of hundreds of shards of glass and stones that come together to create a beautiful and inspiring masterpiece, we are many individuals coming together to build connection, foster community, and grow our collective strength as blind students across the state of Michigan. Each new member adds depth, color, and brilliance to our shared work.
On every Sunday each month, you will receive an email from one of the four board members of MIABS with information pertaining to a specific area. Keep an eye out for specific dates each month, and if there is a bonus week, there may or may not be content, but we will let you know either way. Below is the schedule on which board member you will receive an email from, and the topic area.
Week 1: President Jeffery Crouch: Advocacy
Week 2: Vice President Riley Letterman: Membership and Outreach
Week 3: Secretary Steven Crouch: Communications and Technology
Week 4: Treasurer Danielle Agajan: Fundraising and the monthly wrap up
We sincerely hope that you will find value in these newsletters. If you have any suggestions, you can email miabs-president at outlook.com with your feedback.
Membership and Outreach
Information
MIABS continues to grow, and we could not be more excited. At our January 3rd and January 9th board meetings, we officially voted in new members, further strengthening our division and expanding our statewide network of blind students. To our newest members: WELCOME! We are so glad you are here.
If you are interested in joining MIABS, know of any friends who are interested in joining MIABS, or know of any blind students in the state of Michigan who are not yet connected with the National Federation of the Blind, we want to hear from you. Please refer them directly to me using my contact information below. Community grows best through personal connection.
