Consider a donation to MPAS this year ------------------------------------------------------------ Elmer L. Cerano, Executive Director Dear Friend, For more than 35 years, Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service (MPAS) has steadily advocated and protected the rights of people with disabilities in Michigan. Although some objectives have been more challenging than others, we have maintained an exceptionally successful track record of helping make Michigan a place of opportunity and independence for all people with disabilities. Our goals and priorities remain the same. We continue to strive to; eliminate abuse and neglect; improve rights protection systems; eliminate barriers to employment; improve access to necessary services and supports; and ensure the right to a high quality education for all people with disabilities. But in uncertain financial times, we need your support more than ever. Just to name a few of our projects in the last year, MPAS has used information and referral calls related to special education to compile information to improve education outcomes for students with disabilities. MPAS took legal action against a doctor in Michigan who refused to treat a young boy with cerebral palsy, and we helped a woman with a disability get the assistance she needed from Michigan Rehabilitation Services to start her own small business. We have also launched a new website in order to give our clients an additional avenue to our services and immediate access to invaluable information. Your tax-deductible donation, either by check or PayPal on our website, will help MPAS stay up to date with the ever-changing world of outreach and advocacy and expand our services to even more people in need of our help. That is why we ask you to please consider MPAS in your generosity and make a contribution today of $50, $100, $250 or whatever you can afford (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr) . When your support is combined with the foresight of our dedicated board members and the hard work of our employees, together we can reach new heights. Thank you for your kind consideration.
