Hi Debbie,
We are doing a blog project at my CIL on intersectionality, that is, how your other identities have impacted your experience as a person with a disability, blind person. October is blindness awareness month, and I was wondering if you’d like to contribute, writing or talking about a blind person who has multiple identities. These experiences do not have to be negative. Here are a few thoughts:
How has your family background or cultures informed how you experience blindness?
Do the different ethnic groups of your family respond to your blindness in different ways? Can you describe?
How do you think different ethic groups react to blindness and why?
How has being female impacted your experience as a blind person?
Hope this helps for a few ideas You can remain anonymous if you like if you want to write something for our blog.
Renee
