We will be traveling to the Lake Erie Hawk Fest in Lake Erie Metro Park in Brownstown, Michigan. This Hawk migration highway is a fascinating place this time of year. This skyway highway at the west end of Lake Erie is the route for Turkey Vultures, Golden eagles, Broad-winged hawks, the American Kestrels, and various migrating raptors. The day will be filled with programs on hawk identification, live raptor demonstrations, and much more which can be found at the Lake Erie website. I don\u2019t usually send people to websites, but, for a more in depth picture of the day that is a good place to look.

We will have a van leaving from the University of Michigan-Dearborn Environmental Interpretive Center at 9:a m. We will be returning by 4-5:p m. Please let me know if you wish to ride with us in the van which Mike, an EIC naturalist, will be driving. We can pack our lunches and have a picnic together or there will be some food for sale as well. You can meet us at the Marshland Museum if you have your own transportation and we will be there by 10:a m. Contact me with any questions and please consider joining us for a glorious day in the park.

With Birding Joy,

Donna Posont

Coordinator: Birding by Ear and Beyond

Environmental Interpretive Center

University of Michigan-Dearborn

4901 Evergreen Road

Dearborn, Michigan

313-220-8140

dposont@umich.edu

From: NFBMI-Wayne-County <nfbmi-wayne-county-bounces@nfbnet.org> On Behalf Of Ahmad Jaafil via NFBMI-Wayne-County
Sent: Monday, September 7, 2026 9:57 AM
To: nfbmi-wayne-county@nfbnet.org
Cc: Ahmad Jaafil <ajaafil98@hotmail.com>
Subject: [NFBMI-Wayne-County] Our September Meeting

Greetings,

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying Labor Day.
