Just an FYI. Metro will be doing a brief presentation at the Creve Coeur
city council meeting tomorrow night on the impending service cuts for the
west county Creve Coeur area. The presentation will begin promptly at
7pm at he Creve Coeur Government center in the multi purpose room. iF
you will be affected please try and come even though this is last minute.
The no 91 Olive bus which runs from the Delmar Metro Station to
Chesterfield Mall will no longer pick up passengers past Olive and 270.
The last pick up will be at Ballas and Olive while the bus will turn just
west of 270 at Coeur De Ville and go back into the city. Please keep in
mind if you do not live in the area but go to any doctors or medical
centers in this area this will mean you are no long qualified for ADA
paratransit services. Any trips out to doctors offices in this area will
then be non ADA trips meaning you will pay full Call A Ride fare which
starts at about $7 per zone right now but will be changed to a mileage
system so you will not qualify for ADA trips. All metro cuts go into
effect on March 30th. Signs have been posted at all effected bus stops.
City buses will no longer run as often and stops will be moved further
distances. Also Metro is holding a meeting at the MCB building Tuesday
morning at 10am looking for those individuals who will be effected.
Metro and a communications company will be presents. This is the same
company responsible for the Propositions M adds. Please if you are
effected try to attend. Also two other important points. If the bus
stops running at a certain time in your area you will also not be
eligible for ADA trips and in the city you will not have access to Call A
Ride for those hours there is no service. Secondly no one will recieve
ADA paratransit services if they are more than 3/4 of a mile from a fixed
route bus. If you have questions on this you may call the reservations
line and they can check and see if your trip will be eligible. Many
transit companies across the country are hedging on the 3/4 of a mile
limit so you may have to mapquest your trip and prove you are in that
zone.
