Cari,

So good to hear from you!

I wish you all the best on what sounds like a very challenging endeavor.

Here in Michigan at Oakland Community College they employee cognitively challenged members of the community as dish washer and kitchen stewards. I think their program has some good and bad benefits.

If you would like I can get a contact number for a person who is involved in the program and you folks can discuss.

Good to meet you Cari!

I'd really like to form an agency that assists people with cognitive disabilities to integrate in the community. As part of that I have given thought to helping cognitive disabled adults to sort out what they feel and how to express themselves. I've worked with clients before and experienced that therapists don't give them much time and don't know how to give them the tools of self expression. For now, I have a ways to go before I'm fully settled and I'm taking it one day at a time. Talk to you soon.
