Making room reservations for the hotel for state convention really does make a difference!
As of today we only have 16 rooms reserved out of the expected 57 and promised 50.
So, I now am standing in quick sand when speaking with the hotel. They are being very reasonable in wanting to make sure we will provide them the promised business before they make any more concessions to us.
If we do not have 2/3 of the 50 room block reserved by the middle of this month we may have to pay as much as $200.00 to rent the small room for the technology session but, if we have reached that goal it will likely be free.
And, she is not even ready to talk about the cash bar but said the normal fees if we were only renting the room for meeting start at $500.00 plus a minimum consumption guarantee. I don't know about everyone else but I don't use our hard to come by funds to pay large meeting room rentals and God knows what else. Let us save the state affiliate and ourselves some money. So, please make those reservations right away.
This sounds like a broken record to many of you but I am not sorry about it at all. After all it cost absolutely nothing to make a reservation and if something comes up you can cancel without paying a single haypenny. Call 1-417-883-6550 and specify that you are with the National Federation of the Blind.
Again the convention is March 26-28 in Springfield at the Clarion at 3333 s Glenstone.

PS- I am sure Larry Arnold would appreciate getting your convention registration forms as well very soon!
