Subject: [Nfbmo] Mikaela Is Home
> We learned early this morning that the Missouri Division of Children's
> Services wanted to settle and released Mikaela to her parents just hours
> before the hearing. Blake and Erika are very happy to have their baby at
> home where she belongs. This is truly a victory for them but it cannot be
> the end of this case.
> There have been several interviews already with the media this afternoon.
> The NFB of Missouri will be working with the attorney and the parents to
> proceed with litigation. The injustice cannot be undone; Nor can these
> parents regain precious time they should have had with their newborn. We
> must work to be sure this does not happen to other blind couples when they
> enter a hospital to have their baby.
> More will be forthcoming in the days to come.
