NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND
OF MISSOURI
Forty-Eighth Annual State Convention
March 26 thru March 28, 2010
The Clarion Hotel
Springfield, Missouri
The Springfield Chapter welcomes everyone to the beautiful rolling hills of Southwest Missouri and the forty-eighth annual state convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Missouri.
Members of our Springfield Chapter cordially invite you to drop by Hospitality in Conference Room A and B which will be open from 5:00 to 10:00 Friday evening.
The hotel features two dining establishments on the property. The Newsroom Café serves delicious breakfasts and the Classic Sports Cafe offers a delicious dinner menu. Guests are invited to enjoy many superior amenities including free airport transportation, free coffee in the lobby, and free high speed internet access.
This year's hotel convention room rates are $71.95 plus taxes. However, the hotel is not obligated to honor these rates if proof of registration for the convention is not available when you check-out.
The check-out time for the hotel on Sunday is at 12:00 noon. Those who can check-out prior to the morning sessions will help us avoid congestion at the front desk upon adjournment.
On Friday afternoon, there will be a Technology Help Lab from 2:00 to 5:00 pm offering hands on instruction of several popular applications. Stop by Ballroom 2 and learn how to accomplish that computer task that slows you down.
Registration will be held Friday evening in the Ballroom Foyer from 5:00 until 8:00 and again on Saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:00. Registration at the convention will cost $15.00 per person and banquet tickets will cost $25.00. Please register so you will be eligible for door prizes and other convention activities. Even if you have pre-registered, you should come to this area to pick up your registration packet. Also, remember to check out the exhibits which will be near the registration table.
This year's luncheon on Saturday will be at noon in Ballroom 1. Tickets are $13.00 and may be purchased at the registration table.
A prayer breakfast led by Rev. Paul Weingartner will be held on Sunday morning at 7:00 in Ballroom 2. Breakfast tickets are available at the registration table for $5.00.
Door prizes will be given throughout the convention and each chapter is encouraged to bring their donations to the Springfield Chapter table in the exhibit area. You must be in the room or must be working on convention business to win.
The General Sessions on Saturday and Sunday will be held in Ballroom 3-4. The Reception and Banquet will be held in Ballroom 1-2. All Federation meetings and convention events are smoke free.
