Subject: Public Relations Committee/NFB Press Corps Meeting

Dear Fellow Federationists:

This is a reminder that the meeting of the Public Relations Committee and
the new NFB Press Corps will take place at the convention of the National
Federation of the Blind on Tuesday, July 5, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The
meeting will be held in Suwannee 13, Level 2. If you are receiving this
message, you are either already designated by your state president to serve
in the NFB Press Corps, or you are a state president who will handle Press
Corps activities yourself or has not yet appointed a Press Corps
representative. In either case, you are welcome at the meeting, or you can
send someone whom you would like to participate in the NFB Press Corps or is
interested in participating. During the meeting PR staff from the National
Federation of the Blind Jernigan Institute will explain what we hope the NFB
Press Corps can achieve, as well as provide you with other information about
our public relations activities and how your affiliate can maximize media
exposure for your state organization and local chapters. Also, Barbara
Pierce will be stopping by to give us some writing tips, and Mika Pyyhkala,
NFB board member and president of the NFB of Massachusetts, will tell us how
he has used social media as an effective advocacy tool. You won't want to
miss this meeting. We look forward to seeing all of you there.

Sincerely:

Chris Danielsen

Chairman, Public Relations Committee

Director of Public Relations

National Federation of the Blind
