Thanks for the report on the Braille Readers Are Leaders celebration event
at MSB today. Sounds like a fun time and some creative ways to use Braille.
Congratulations to this year's students and to the NFB of Missouri Braille
Action Committee who worked to recognize these student's accomplishments.
Enjoyed hearing about it and appreciate the work that went into the
planning.

Subject: [Nfbmo] Braille Readers Are Leaders Celabration at MSB Today

I just wanted to drop a quick note about the Braille Readers Are Leaders
celebration that took place this afternoon at MSB. There were 15 students
who participated this year and 14 of them participated in the celebration.

Students had a lot of fun trying to come up with words which were made out
of the letters of their name and starting to read a story that they would be
able to complete on their own about how a cat should go about choosing a
family to adopt. I am not sure they wanted to stop reading the story and am
pretty confident that they will finish the story on their own.

All students received Braille calenders and certificates for participating
as well as prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. One high school age
student read 2,273 pages! When the celebration was concluded, all students
enthusiastically said they will participate next year.

Thanks to everyone who participated for making this a success. Couldn't have
done it without you!
