Background:

The Barbershop Harmony Society, based in Nashville, Tennessee, is an association of approximately 25,000 members in the United States and Canada and an additional 10 affiliated international organizations, dedicated to preserving the art of the barbershop style of a cappella singing and encouraging men to share in the joys of Barbershop Harmony.

Our Mission states: "The Barbershop Harmony Society brings men together in harmony and fellowship to enrich lives through singing." There are nearly 800 chapters in 17 districts in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1938, the organization will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2013. Members are men from all walks of life and all ages with a shared love of Barbershop Harmony.
