Subject: National Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program
Gary,
We're happy to announce that just last week, the FCC finally certified state
entities to administer the National Deaf Blind Equipment Distribution
Program (NDBEDP). Missouri Assistive Technology will administer the
program for Missouri. Thank you so much for writing your letter of support
for Missouri's certification application.
With the certification, we have a considerable amount of planning to do, and
will be working with the FCC and other states to get answers and
clarifications to remaining questions. We'll know more over the next few
weeks as to the likely start date and other details for the program in
Missouri. In the meantime, we would like to begin getting your ideas on
ways to insure that we reach deaf-blind individuals throughout the state.
Also, if you have any questions about the program, please feel free to send
them to me. While we may not have answers immediately, this will help us as
we develop the program, including outreach materials, and get an idea of
what the most common questions may be.
Again, thank you for your role in making the program a reality in Missouri.
We're excited about getting started and looking forward to working with the
NFB of Missouri.
Marty
