When Ed got his kidney from his ster, they used to wouldn't take spouse. Now
they will.

Debbie,
The check mark and signature on the back of your license/ID only
signifies that you are willing to donate organs for transplantation. A
family member could halt such donations if they objected.. It is important
that you make sureyou have your wishes listed in a medical directive along
with your will. A directive can contravene family objectives.
And no, checking off the organ donation box will not provide
permission to donate your bodyfor research. Again, you have to provide
permission
via your directive and/or will.
