susan,

you will not be able to snap the adapter on the back as the new version is 
smaller.
you will use the short included usb cable to connect to the nls cartridge 
usb plug.
amy at customer service didn't care that you will probably have to use a 
rubberband around the player and the cartridge to keep it from flopping 
around.
