Subject: King & Queen Contest

Gary,

Please send this out to all Chapter and Division Presidents.

Thanks,

Gene

Greetings,

I am sending this letter out to all Chapter Presidents and Division
Presidents to keep you up to date on fundraising activities.

We are encouraging all chapters and Divisions to participate in the friendly
competition of the King & Queen contest, whereby each chapter or Division
will select two people to represent their chapter. Each chapter/division
may determine what activity (or activities) to do to raise the most money.
Or you may choose to designate a certain percentage of all fundraising
efforts throughout the year for this contest. Hopefully, you have already
started on this project. If not, time is growing short! The Chapter King &
Queen winner will be announced on Saturday afternoon of the State
Convention, and then awarded their trophies at the beginning of the banquet
Saturday night.

As you know, Kansas City won the competition last year. I hope you will
encourage your chapter/division to be the one to claim the bragging rights
this year!

Also, as in the past, we hope each chapter/division will contribute a basket
with a retail value of at least $25.00 for a silent auction and/or an item
that is worth $25.00 (with the exception of baked goods) for a live auction.

These are our biggest fundraising projects for each year to help our
organization achieve equality, opportunity, and security for the blind of
Missouri. Let's do everything we can to make this a great success!

One last thing.. Please let me know by email what you plan to donate for the
banquet auctions by March 30th, so we can get everything organized more
smoothly for the auctions.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you at the State Convention!
