Tell Senator Blunt:
Vote YES on CRPD!

Tell Senator Blunt to vote YES on the
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

On Thursday June 20th disability rights advocates throughout Missouri will be taking action to urge Senator Blunt to VOTE YES to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). We ask you to be a part of this important advocacy effort.

Call Senator Blunt’s office:

*	Washington D.C. Office: Phone: (202) 224-5721
*	St. Louis Office: Phone: (314) 725-4484

Visit http://www.blunt.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/office-locations <http://custapp.marketvolt.com/link/2NhusLFhqn?CM=398250702&X=43828005> for a list of all Senator Blunt’s offices and phone numbers.

In your message to Senator Blunt urge the senator to vote YES for the disability treaty, the CRPD. Let him know that this is a disability issue and the disability community says VOTE YES! We also encourage you to share why the treaty is important to you (whether it be traveling, working abroad or appreciation for the ADA here and wanting it to be shared abroad, etc.)

Talking Points

How does the CRPD help people with disabilities?

*	It promotes independent living philosophy and community inclusion (Article 19: Living Independently and being included in the community).
*	It supports access to education and employment (Article 24: Education and Article 27: Work and Employment).
*	It improves global accessibility (Article 9: Accessibility).
*	It ensures humane and moral treatment of all people with disabilities (Article 14: Liberty and Security of Person, Article 15: Freedom from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, and Article 16: Freedom from Exploitation, Violence, and Abuse).
*	It promotes full access to all areas of society (Article 30: Participation in Cultural Life, Recreation, Leisure & Sport).

Remember to contact Senator Blunt on Thursday June 20th and ask him to support the CRPD!
