Customer Service Representative (Jefferson City, MO) ($10/hour, M-F,
8am-5pm) The Customer Service Representative represents Young Williams and
provides outstanding customer service to both internal and external
customers by professionally answering all calls and insuring that customers
receive accurate information politely and promptly.

Essential functions include:

  *   the ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  *   the ability to meet the minimum requirement of number of calls
answered per day
  *   the ability to draw from resources, policies and supervisors to answer
all inquiries, recognize case issues as they develop in order to reduce
workload
  *   willingness to show a high level of enthusiasm in serving customers
and improving team performance

Physical demands include:

  *   while performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is
regularly required to type, talk or hear
  *   frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms
  *   sometimes required to stand and walk
  *   must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  *   High school diploma or equivalent required
  *   Degree or certificate in related field preferred

Tier One Investigator - part-time (Kansas City, MO)($8.25/hour, 3 days per
week) Job Summary: Monitoring state communications and reporting of
questionable activities to supervisors.

Essential Functions:
* Monitor state communication via phone calls utilizing a headset.
* Report all questionable calls to Tier 2 Investigator for analysis.
* Maintain an established level of monitored calls on a daily basis.
* Utilizing computer equipment and associated software, make the appropriate
notations as per training protocols.
* Ensure all work performed is kept "confidential" as required by the
customer.
* Comply with all rules and procedures to maintain a "secure" work
environment.

Additional Functions:
* As the need arises, be available for court testimony on job related
issues.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED.
* Computer literate, specifically in Microsoft 2010.
* Must type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
* Excellent attendance record.
* Detail oriented with specific emphasis on listen skills.
* Must be able to pass and maintain background checks administered by
Alphapointe and the Missouri Department of Corrections.
* Mandatory confidentiality relating to work performed.
* Fluency in a second language given preferential consideration.
* Ability to work in a secured team environment.
* Must be able to pass a pre-placement drug screen.

Working Conditions:
* Work in a "secured work station" environment.
* Work with employees who have vision impairments.

VA Switchboard Operator - full & part-time (Kansas City, MO) (mainly second
and third shift, $13.87/hr + $3.71/hr Health Adder) Job Summary:  Under the
direction of the Manager, the hospital switchboard operator is responsible
for processing incoming and outgoing telephone calls/emergency procedures.

Essential Functions:

  *   Work as a telephone operator; process incoming/outgoing telephone
calls for the medical center; operate computer based console switchboard,
radio paging, public address and audiovisual call systems; provide
switchboard services for the effective operations of the VA Medical Center.
  *   Respond to various emergencies and/or emergency alarms; activate
necessary procedures for such situations as, but not limited to, cardiac
arrest and patient disturbances; use the public address (PA) system, radio
paging and two-way radio systems to relay messages and make announcements;
answer all emergency calls and alarms quickly and accurately; operate
wireless radio and digital pagers and paging systems; maintain appropriate
records; test code pagers.
  *   Monitor backup systems for fire/smoke alarm and police security
systems.
  *   Maintain all required documentation (i.e. record all
international/toll calls/faxes in the long distance log, including the name
of the employee, time, number called, and services).
  *   Use discretion, tact and good judgment to handle all situations that
may arise.
  *   Process all calls in a courteous and professional manner, giving a
favorable impression of the VA at all times.
  *   Understand written guidelines for processing calls, alerts and
maintenance of equipment and records; memorize a substantial portion of
these instructions and provide correct interpretation.
  *   Must have a flexible schedule and be receptive to shift changes and
working overtime when the need arises.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  *   Must be able to assume the responsibility of placing a variety of
calls including special long distance/international calls/faxes over varied
circuits/routing.
  *   Must perform information which requires knowledge of the
organizational units and major functions of a large multi-division
organization.
  *   Must have the ability to meet and deal with a variety of levels of
understanding.
  *   Must be able to work under pressure and under stressful conditions and
be able to adapt to a changing work environment.

Teleservices Representative - part-time (Kansas City, MO & Warrensburg, MO)
($7.75/hour, weekday afternoons & an occasional Saturday) A Teleservices
Representative is responsible for creating a great conversation between the
clients, students, or customers by using enthusiasm, listening skills,
sincerity and experience.

Essential Functions:

  *   Utilize the Pegasus Software Agent
     *   Log into agent
     *   Log into the queue
     *   Answer calls clearly
     *   Maneuver through calls smoothly
     *   Fill in every text box by entering accurate data
     *   Disposition the call appropriately according to the client's
response
     *   Hit next call to repeat the process
  *   Utilize the Five9 Software Agent
     *   Log into agent
     *   Change status from "Break" to "Ready Call"
     *   Be alert to receive a call at any moment
     *   When a call is received:  start worksheet, follow script, transfer
to client or disposition appropriately
     *   Repeat process

Additional Functions:

  *   Have and keep a good attitude in the work place as well as with
clients
  *   Respect the spaces shared with each employee
     *   Keep the cubicles clean
     *   Make sure the break room is clean after use
     *   Make sure the bathroom is clean after use

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  *   High School diploma or GED required
  *   Excellent attendance record
  *   Detail oriented with specific emphasis on listening skills
  *   Must be able to pass and maintain background checks
  *   Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  *   Ability to take direction well
  *   Must possess basic computer skills

Working Conditions:

  *   Sitting and working at a desk/cubicle for 4-5 hours

Activities of Daily Living Instructor - full-time (Kansas City, MO) The
Activities of Daily Living Instructor performs evaluations and teaches
adaptive techniques for independent daily living.  May train and provide
supervision to fieldwork OT students and new ADL staff, as appropriate to
level of licensure.

Essential Functions:

  *   Assess or monitor assessment of skills in activities of daily living
and diabetes management; make appropriate training and equipment
recommendations.
  *   Formulate curriculum; develop individualized study materials; instruct
and monitor instruction of consumers; and modify teaching programs and
materials as necessary.
  *   Provide verbal and written reports pertaining to consumers' progress
to consumers, referral sources, and other rehabilitation team members in
accordance with policies and procedures.  Complete other paperwork as
assigned.
  *   Recommend the purchase of supplies and capital equipment needed for
training.
  *   Provide orientation of instructional areas and equipment to new staff
members and student affiliates assigned to the program.
  *   Plan and conduct community integration activities and outings to
enhance training, knowledge of community resources, independence, self
advocacy, and leisure.
  *   Act as case manager and serve as a liaison with referral sources for
single service consumers.  Establish and maintain relationships with other
providers of daily living skills.
  *   Participate in team and staff meetings and contribute to the
formulation of policies, procedures and programs.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  *   Completion of an accredited education program and all field work
education requirements leading to either a Bachelor's or Master's degree
program in Rehabilitation Teachers for the Blind or by the National Board
for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.  Must maintain
certification.
  *   Excellent communication, assessment and teaching ability required.
  *   Knowledge of diabetes preferred.

Working Conditions:

  *   Some travel in the community.

BSC Cashier/Clerk - full-time (Fort Leonard Wood, MO & Little Rock AFB, AR)
The BSC Cashier/Clerk assists in the operation of the Base Supply Center in
compliance with the Javit's Wagner O'Day Act, Alphapointe, federal and
military guidelines.  Performs cashier and stock clerk duties and assists
with all aspects of customer service and store maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  *   Receive payment for goods purchased in the form of cash, credit,
voucher or other authorized form of payment, and issue receipt, change and
other record of purchase required by customer.
  *   Maintain transaction records and register reconciliation
documentation.
  *   Operate cash register with peripheral electronic data processing
equipment by passing individual price coded items across electronic data
scanner to record price, compile printed list and display cost of customer
purchase on monitor screen.
  *   Inventory, store, price and restock merchandise displays.
  *   Receive, open and unpack cartons or crates of merchandise, checking
invoice against items received.
  *   Stamp, attach or change price tags on merchandise, referring to price
list.
  *   Stock storage areas and displays with new or transferred merchandise.
  *   Set up advertising signs and display merchandise on shelves, counters
or tables to attract customers and promote sales.
  *   Clean display cases, shelves and aisles
  *   Pack customer purchases in bags or cartons and assist with loading
into customer vehicle as required.
  *   Operate material handling equipment to include forklift and pallet
jacks.
  *   Assist with clerical duties and routine office functions as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  *   High school diploma or equivalent required.
  *   Prior work experience within a retail store preferred.
  *   Ability to operate computerized cash registers and related equipment.
  *   General knowledge of office equipment and machines, including computer
terminal and desktop computer.
  *   Ability to deal pleasantly and courteously with management, customer
and co-workers by telephone, written correspondence and in person.

Braille and Academic Skills Instructor - full-time (Kansas City, MO) The
Braille and Academic Skills Instructor performs evaluations, teaches
adaptive techniques for academic and written language skills, including
Braille.  May provide academic remediation, oral language skills, adaptive
technology and customer service skill training.

Essential Functions:

  *   Provide orientation to adaptive skills of blindness, educating
visually impaired children and adults on an array of adaptive tools and
techniques, and reinforcing the importance of acquiring skills in order to
become independent, job ready and successfully employed.
  *   Conduct comprehensive Adaptive Skills Assessments with all Vocational
Rehabilitation customers and, after careful analysis, make formal
recommendations for aids and appliances, modifications to the home
environment, training needs and other services.
  *   Develop and maintain complete and accurate records and reports of all
services provided for visually impaired children and adults being served.
  *   Develop and implement systems for evaluating the effectiveness of
intervention procedures and keep appropriate personnel informed of findings.
  *   Develop individual educational program for students.
  *   Plan curriculum, modify curriculum and prepare lessons and other
instructional materials according to student needs.
  *   Transcribe materials as needed.
  *   Arrange for and conduct field trips designed to promote experiential
learning.
  *   Operate in multiple settings under the Rehabilitation Service
Manager's direction and keep appropriate personnel informed of activities,
accommodations, modifications and services for clients with multiple
disabilities.
  *   Review and respond to emails and phone messages in a timely manner.
  *   Provide adaptive skills of blindness training and services, developing
individualized training curricula and establishing clear and measurable
objectives for each customer.
  *   Continually monitor and document customer progress and assess
effectiveness of training, making adjustments to the training plan as
necessary, and provide ongoing support and guidance to build self-esteem and
self-confidence.
  *   Provide input toward the development of quality service standards
affecting policy, procedures and best practices.
  *   Evaluate new or upgraded aids, appliances, and techniques to determine
appropriateness and use by customer, and identify new resources, tools and
devices that may assist clients in increasing their independence and
employability.
  *   Stay current with developments in the TVI profession, and meet with
peers on a quarterly basis to discuss and share new ideas, techniques and
professional developments.  Confer with parents, administrator, testing
specialists, social worker, and others to develop individual educational
program for students when collaborating with schools.
  *   Plan curriculum, modify curriculum and prepare lessons and other
instructional materials according to client needs.
  *   Meet with family to discuss how parents can encourage client's
independence and well-being and to provide guidance in using community
resources.
  *   Perform other reasonable duties that from time to time may be assigned
to meet the usual and unusual demands placed on the organization.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  *   Bachelor's degree in education or its equivalent is required.
Master's degree preferred.
  *   Certifiable or certified through the nationally recognized accrediting
body of Teachers for the Visually Impaired.  Must maintain certification.
  *   Excellent communication, assessment and teach ability required.
  *   Knowledge of adaptive equipment and techniques for people who are
blind and visually impaired is preferred.
  *   Knowledge of grades 1 and 2 braille and other braille codes preferred.
  *   Organization and attention to detail are required.
  *   Knowledge of common eye diseases leading to blindness and their impact
on functional vision.
  *   Knowledge of major secondary disabilities and their impact on
individual's functioning and learning.
  *   Knowledge of the basic alternative skills, strategies and access
technology used by blind and visually impaired people.
  *   Knowledge of national and local resources for blind and visually
impaired people.
  *   Knowledge of federal and state laws affection services and rights of
people with disabilities such as ADA, the Rehabilitation Act, etc.
  *   Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  *   Ability to effectively navigate the Internet and use other common
computer applications such as MS Office Suite.
  *   Excellent written and oral communication skills.
