Congratulations, Ruby. You make all of us proud, not only of Dakota but also
of you, who have learned of Federation philosophy that we hold dear. Merry

Hi Gary,

This is another follow up on Dakota (the 8 year old blind boy whose Cane was
taken away from him by the North Kansas City School District. Thank you
for contacting President Mark Riccobono at our National Office who sent
Dakota a brand new Cane for him to keep, a Comemitive Louis Braille Coin and
a Personal letter (Braille and print). He really liked his Christmas Gifts.

Jeff Wright, Shelia Wright and myself delivered the Presents yesterday to a
very happy little Boy. When we arrived Fox 4 TV News was there to Video this
Historic occasion. It was played on the 5 and 6 PM News.

We told Dakota how proud we were of him for standing up for his rights to
"live the way he want", and that the National Federation of the Blind was
standing up with him too.

This is a legacy that will remain in NFBMO History.

The Parents want information on our Parents of Blind Children's Division in
Missouri which we are supplying to them.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All.

Ruby Polk, President

Kansas City chapter

National Federation of the Blind of Missouri
