[Nfbmo] Fwd: [nfbmi-talk] 2015 State Convention Agenda

The thing I noticed was that the message was sent from his iPhone. If he
used dictation, it would have been a great possibility that it was mistyped.
The other possibility is a joke... maybe.

Gene,
I don't think the point of Fred's post was negative - a lot of
Missourians refer to Missouri as 'Misey" - as a matter of fact, the state
tourism slogan some years ago was (and I'm not making this up) "Missouri
Loves
Company" - a take-off of the old saw, "Misery Loves Company".
Bt the way, when I was attending Southern Illinois University back in
the 70s, the students referred to Southern Illinois by it's abbreviation -
So Ill.

Speaking for myself alone...
As convention coordinator I look constantly at other states convention
agendas primarily to check out their registration costs, hotel rates, and
charges for planned meals to make sure I am doing right by our affiliate
members in negotiations with providers. Of course, as a result, I read
over their agendas. There are a wide variety of conventions from one day to
four day with many differing aspects. I concluded long ago that I would
stack our agenda up against any other states. Sure, we can get ideas from
them.
But, your message seems to be negative in it's focus using the incorrect
name for our state implying that our convention is miserable. I hope your
posts could be more positive than this and not snottie.
Gene

I thought it might be worthwhile for you to see an agenda for another state
convention besides our own misery chapter. Fred Olver
