Hi all,

I am passing this information along because I know that some of you have expressed interest in community service and in starting a community service division in Missouri. The NFB Community Service Division will be holding a membership call this Sunday. It will be an opportunity to meet the board, find out what the division has been doing, and discuss what we’d like to see the division do in 2016 and beyond. The time, date, and call-in information are below. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the

characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the

expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles

between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;

blindness is not what holds you back.

 “We need your service, right now, at this moment - our moment - in history. I'm not going to tell you what your role should be; that's for you to discover. But I am going to ask you to play your part; ask you to stand up; ask you to put your foot firmly into the current of history” — Barack Obama
