[Nfbmo] some ideas for attracting convention participation

How correct you are Julie. I am glad you learned that and are able to pass
that on to our younger and newer members. That is why we should never
consider doing away with our national rep giving our banquet address.

So what happened at the Tiger and Governor hotel? Lower rates?

I recently attended a seminar in Baltimore all about convention
planning. If you guys are interested, I can write about what we
learned there.

I will say now that one of the central features of our convention is
the banquet speech. The national rep comes to a state convention
representing the national president. That person also represents the
link we have to the national office and the larger organization. So,
when he or she gives a banquet speech, they do so to remind us that we
are not alone. We are not simply the NFB of Missouri but one peace of
this giant puzzle of affiliates, divisions, and committees we call the
NFB. Cool, right?
