Last weekend I experienced one of the biggest blessings of my life. I got to
hear people toast and roast me in a way that many do not enjoy until they
have passed from this life to the next. I appreciate all of the kind words
that were said and the love that motivated them. My hardest job over the
weekend was to keep from overdosing on all of the kind words and to remember
that what we have done has been accomplished together.

No state president has been recognized any better than the way you folks
said thank you to me. I appreciate the resolution appointing me to the Board
of Directors, the title of president emeritus, the proclamation from the
governor, the renaming of the Missouri affiliate award, the donuts, the
roast, and the torch which I will proudly display.

 

You folks are the finest I know, and it is my pleasure to call you my
colleagues, my friends, and my extended Federation family. I will do my best
in the coming years to live up to the person you created through your
emotions and moving words. Thank you so very much for everything.
