The Sports and Reaction Committee of the National Federation of the Blind of
Missouri would like to ask foryour participation in this event. U.S.B.A. is
hosting the event.
Robin House, Committee Chair will be sending out a flier with more exciting
information!! So please read the information listed below and share with
your Chapters and friends!!
Also, please ask someone from your Chapter to represent your Chapter on the
next Sports and Reaction call on September 4, 2018.

National Blind Sports Day
is October 6, 2018!
Join hundreds of people across the country in promoting fitness in Americans
with visual impairments!
Sports and fitness provide framework to set goals, build work ethic and live
a healthier lifestyle. The goal of National Blind Sports Day is to celebrate
the abilities of and opportunities available to Americans with visual
impairments and increase awareness of sports for the blind.
How to get involved -
Check the constantly updating list of events happening across the nation
during the week of October 1-7, 2018 for an event happening near you!
If there isn't an event happening near you, simply get moving on October 6th
and post about it on social media using
You can also RSVP on the Facebook event to connect with people across the
country who will be participating.
Some ideas: Walk or jog around your neighborhood with family and friends,
coordinate an NBSD dedicated practice for your sports team, do your daily
routine, try a new sport or fitness activity at your local gym or sports
If you are associated with an organization or agency serving the blind in
your community, encourage them to host a NBSD event!
Organizations can register to host an event here.
We want to make this the first of many National Blind Sports Days with the
dream of one day turning it into International Blind Sports Day but we can
do that with your support. Please mark your calendars and join us by
participating in a sport or fitness activity on Saturday, October 6, 2018!
