Hello all. I have a good friend who is in the hospital at St. Vincent DePaul right now, trying to recover from surgery. He has expressed the desire to get out of bed on his own and sit up in a chair. He has tried, but they set up an alarm to alert the nurses if he does. They told him that the reason why is because he is blind, and he cannot get out of bed unless he calls for help. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone had any ideas on the best direction he should turn so that he can advocate for himself. He is very frustrated with the situation as it stands, but he feels that he is not currently being listened to. Thanks all for anything you might have to offer here.
