Hello,

REAL ID in Missouri

You can apply for a REAL ID-compliant driver license or nondriver ID card at one of Missouri’s more than 175 license office locations. You will be required to submit the following valid, original documents demonstrating proof of each item at the time you apply:
•Identity (one acceptable document to verify full legal name and date of birth);
•Lawful Status in the United States (one acceptable document to verify United States citizenship or immigration status);
•Social Security Number (one acceptable document);
•Missouri Residency (two acceptable documents verifying your Missouri residential address); and
•Additional items may be required if your name is different from the name on your identity and date of birth verification document.

Carol and Elisabeth got their Real ID's this month. You do have to ask for them otherwise they will give you the old type. I was not able to get one because back 45 years ago I as a teenager lamented my Social Security Card so now sometime I'll have to go the SS office to apply for a replacement. Bureaucracy is so much fun!

I asked shortly after the law was passed that they would be available upon request. I’m not sure if he just wasn’t aware, though he was quick to inform me of the extension, or if he was just resistant about giving them out. Thank goodness I have a passport but an I’d is much easier to carry with you.
