I wanted to announce that Amy Wilson with the NFBMO Sports and Rec division
is planning an event for Blind Awareness Month in October. A fun and
adventurous outing to the Renaissance fair, that is held in Wyandotte
County, KS. We want to show others that blindness is not something that
holds us back or stops us from participating in normal activities in our
community. As well as promoting exercise, Safety and good health with fun
outdoor activities. So, please join us, on October 13, 2024. I also like to
mention the theme for the Renaissance Fair, this weekend is "Halloween fun",
so you are welcome to come in costume if you wish, in keeping with the
spirit of the event. I know Several of our group will be in costume. But of
course this is optional. Lol

The National Federation of the Blind
knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your
future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low
expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can
live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
