Hi,
There was a discussion on the Microsoft 365 accessibility group a while ago on this topic. The fix is below.
By a weird or maybe not so wweird coincidence, I encountered this exact same issue when opening Word documents just a few days ago and it was maddening. Location services is definitely disabled on my machine and I even disabled location services override. As my Documents folder is linked to OneDrive, I went to onedrive.com to see if there was anything remotely related to this in OneDrive’s settings but nothing obvious jumped out at me. Finally, I went into Word’s Privacy Settings via the Account tab and disabled all options for connected services and that stopped the message. I do not know what may have recently changed regarding this setting but disabling it fixed it.
Press alt+F, go to Account, and then activate the button for managing settings to find these options.

I’ve been getting the same thing. When I go to the address bar I see nothing remotely to help me deal with it. The message is actually saying that word or excel know where I am.

It is telling me that my location is visible and that I should adjust it in the address bar. This is when I’m using Office products.
How are you, friend. Long time no talk. Miss ya.

This is happening due to you or your phone or firewall blocking location access. Websites want to access your location to tailor advertising and for data analytics.

Whenever I edit a document in Microsoft Word or Microsoft XL, I have recently been getting the following message
This site can access your location. Change this setting in the address bar. While I have seen this on certain websites, never before have I seen it in the opening of office documents. I thought it was a problem particular to my own unit, but last evening on the technology committee meeting, I heard the same thing come through on someone's screen reader. Any thoughts as to how to rectify this? It can be quite a problem, because you start editing or reading a document, and it may come up fifteen or twenty seconds after you are into the work.
Thanks for any advice.
Warmly,
Gary
