This sounds like something that is happening here in the Kansas City area.
Pardon the lack of professionalism here, but some attorney around here is
doing the very same thing to small businesses. It needs to be stopped. I
would bet you that this is the same nut job, reaching beyond this area. They
have ended up in the news here, making the neeed for accessibility of
websites for blind people look really bad. I'll pull something up on this
and send it out soon, when I am not trying to do a million things at once.

In our Jefferson City chapter meeting we talked about the proposal to stop
abusive lawsuits. Kathy Hurley tole us about one restaurant in the city that
has been taken to court for an inaccessible website. The owner called me
based on the conversation with Kathy. They say they have spent $2,000 to
make their site accessible and now the attorney and his client want $12,000
in addition to what they have already paid their attorney.

 

I see no problems with this site, and the fix looks good to me. Can some of
you check it out and write me.
