[NFBMO] Aira Live

Good Friday evening folks. 

I'm not sure how many people remember a feature that used to be around when
Aira started, called Aira Live. I know I made use of it to keep groups of
blind people together while traveling at conventions, and even Worlds of
Fun. A friend of mine is working on a campaign to hopefully get that feature
reinstated.   If you used the feature, and want to see it come back, send an

with your stories and ideas of how useful it was or you think it could be.
My friend is getting some good feedback from Aira this time around, so let's
keep the momentum going. Here is, in part, my friend Roger's message below
that explains the feature:

 

For those who may not know or may not remember, you used to be able to call
just one Aira agent, and if you had passworded or not passworded the event,

friends could tune in or the public could tune in, that is folks that have
the Aira app, could tune in, and you could broadcast whatever you might have

been doing, whether it was having a restaurant menu Reed, walking through a
convention center, walking around the Washington monuments, doing something

on your computer, basically anything that you wanted folks to hear, you
could broadcast and folks got to tune in.

This was especially useful, if you, the Aira Explorer had a bunch of friends
with you in your travel party, and you wanted to, for example, go to

a restaurant, and only call one agent, and have a bunch of your friends tune
in, and listen to the menu being red, rather than tying up 10, 15, 20 agents

consecutively, who all would have to read the same menu. With Aira Live, you
only took up one agent's time, and anyone who you wanted to have the
information,

could do so.

There are many uses for Aira Live, and if folks have never used it, as it is
no longer available, I'm trying to generate user support, to bring it back,

in some form or fashion.

I was informed, that not many people used Aira Live, so therefore, Aira
scrapped it.

This is most unfortunate.

I am trying to get the message out to as many Aira explorers as I can, to
try to explain what Aira Live was, and how one person could call in, and
anyone

could tag along with them, to get relevant information, without tying up a
plethora of Aira agents, only to do the same task, function, reading a menu,

walking through a crowded ACB, or NFB convention hall, or exhibit hall,
walking through Walmart, target, Starbucks, or any particular Aira access
location,

airport, etc.

I think you probably can get the idea of how awesome this could be.

So I'm sending a message out to folks who may be interested or who may have
never used Aira Live, but if you think about how you could use it, you may

want to email,

and let the team know that you'd like to see a feature like Aira Live come
back, and just how you might think of using it, with your friends,
colleagues

or fellow Aira explorers.
