Hello,
We are in search of mentors for the Mission BEAM Program. We are looking
for blind/low vision adults, at least 22 years old, and who have a minimum
of 2 years of work-based experience (from employment, internships,
volunteer roles, etc). Mentors will work one-to-one with transition age
students (ages 14 - 21) on a variety of life skills needed to become
positive and productive members in their communities. Current mentors say
that they enjoy working with their mentees and that it has been a rewarding
experience.
Attached is the job announcement which has program details and the link to
the application. Please circulate this announcement within your circles.
(Note: you can also send people to the website to find the information
too. www.nfbmo.org/beam)
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Jenny Carmack MEd

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members
and all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
