 for a completely different reason. Where would I submit that award letter? I wish I had known that 11 years ago when I had my case reopened. It’s confusing to me, that reopening a case is really more like starting over. I think this would be the 4<sup>th</sup>
 time I would have had to reopen my case, since having first opened one as a high school student in ’90.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

 but it can happen. One way to expedite a case if you are on SSI or SSDI is to submit a copy of your award letter which indicates you are receiving benefits based on blindness. It is called presumed eligibility.

<p class="MsoNormal">Call 1 (800) 592-6004 and tell them that you want to reopen your case. They will refer you to an RSB counselor, who will help you complete most of the paperwork over the phone. You’ll need to have a current I exam. The counselor also will
 come out to your house, to get more details on why you need to reopen your case. I did this about a year ago. It took about a month. Let me know if you have any other questions.<o:p></o:p></p>
