<div dir="ltr">Hello Friends;<div><br></div><div>HB 1308 is currently in committee. This bill addresses the funding for the SSP (Special Support Provider) Program which people who are deaf blind access to help them achieve independence. We very much want this bill to be passed this legislative session. Currently there are many deaf blind Missourians who are on a waiting list to receive this service, but there is not enough funding to allow them to receive the service. </div><div><br></div><div>I am asking you to write a letter to the general laws committee to urge them to act on this bill, especially if you or someone you know has been or could be served by the SSP program. In addition, if one of the committee members is your representative, it would be even more impactful if you call them to share your story. </div><div><br></div><div>I have attached a list of the committee members with their email addresses. I have also attached the letter that I wrote to the committee members. Feel free to use my letter as a base for writing yours, but do what you can to personalize it. Even if you are not deaf blind, it will be very helpful if you simply write a letter in support of the bill. </div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for your help. If I can help you with this in any way, please let me know. </div><div><br></div><div>Thank you,</div><div>Jenny Carmack</div><div>NFB of Missouri 1st Vice President</div><div><a href="mailto:jcarmack@nfbmo.org">jcarmack@nfbmo.org</a></div><div>call or text: 314-239-9776 </div></div>
