National Federation of the Blind of Montana

2020 Convention

 

September 19, 2020

 

Due to the Covid-19 virus, the convention was held online using Zoom.

 


Attendees:


President: Jim Marks

1st Vice President: Joy Breslauer

2nd Vice President: Sheila Leigland

Secretary: Robert Jaquiss

Treasurer: Edward Robbins

Board member: James Aldrich

Board member: Travis Moses (absent)

Board member: Linda Hurlock

Board member: Bruce Breslauer

 

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 by President Marks. There were
twenty-seven attendees.

 


MINUTES


 

.        A motion was made to accept the minutes as emailed. The motion was
seconded. After some discussion, the motion passed unanimously.

 

Treasurer's report.

 

.        Ted Robins presented the treasurer's report. A motion was made to
approve the treasurer's report. The motion was seconded and passed
unanimously.

 


RESOLUTIONS


 

.        Resolution 2020-01 regarding long term funding of Newsline. The
resolution was adopted with correction noting the cost.

.        Resolution 2020-02 regarding accessible voting. The resolution was
passed.

 

 


ELECTIONS


 

.        Two individuals were nominated for board positions; Jim Aldrich and
Denise Moses.

.        Jim Aldrich was elected by acclamation.

.        Denise Moses was elected by acclamation.

.        Treasurer; Edward Robins was reelected by acclamation.

.        Secretary; Robert Jaquiss reelected by acccclamation.

.        Second VVice-President; Sheila Leigland was reElected by
acclamation.

.        First Vice-President; Joy Breslauer reelected by acclamation. 

.        President; Jim Marks reelected by acclamation. 

 

DELEGATES:

.        Washington Seminar; The board will determine who will be funded for
Washington Seminar. Note; The Washington Seminar will be a virtual event.

.        Convention delegates: Jim will be the delegate. Rik James will be
the alternate delegate. The motion passed unanimously.

.        A Victor reader 2 was sold at auction for $250.

.        Next year's convention will be in Great Falls with the date to be
determined.

.        Robert Jaquiss will check on a Bell At Home Program. The National
board will discuss the NFB-BELL program at its meeting the first weekend of
December.

.        Travis Moses won the grand door prize funding for next year's
convention.

.        Other than reports and presentations, no other business was
conducted.

.        The convention was adjourned at 5:06PM.
