[NFBMT-Parents] Minutes for the 2021 convention of the NFB of Montana held Sept. 25, 2021

National Federation of the Blind of Montana

2021 Convention

September 25, 2021

Note: This meeting was held virtually.

Attendees:

President: Jim Marks

1st Vice President: Joy Breslauer

2nd Vice President: Sheila Leigland

Secretary: Robert Jaquiss

Treasurer: Edward Robbins

Board member: James Aldrich

Board member: Denise Moses Absent

Board member: Linda Hurlock

Board member: Bruce Breslauer

The convention was called to order by President Jim Marks at 9:00. There
were 15 attendees present. By 09:23, there were 19 attendees.

Minutes and Treasurer's Report

*	A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes as emailed.
The motion passed unanimously.
*	Treasurer's Report.
*	A motion was made and seconded to accept the report. The motion
passed unanimously.

New Business

PRESIDENTIAL REPORT

President Marks gave the presidential report.

After the report, there was general discussion about community involvement. 

RESOLUTIONS

*	Resolution 2021-01 Regarding the use of electronic ballot return. A
motion was made and seconded to pass the resolution. The motion passed
unanimously.
*	2102-2 Agencies for the blind and low vision. A motion was made and
seconded to pass the resolution. The motion passed unanimously.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

*	Linda Hurlock and Bruce Breslauer's terms expire in 2021.
*	It was Moved and seconded that Linda be elected by acclamation. The
motion passed unanimously. 
*	It was Moved and seconded Bruce Breslauer be elected by acclamation.
The motion passed unanimously.

WASHINGTON SEMINAR

*	The board will select a delegate and alternate delegate. Jim Marks
will attend if he is able.

NATIONAL CONVENTION delegates

*	It was Moved and seconded that Jim Marks be the delegate.
*	A motion was made and seconded to have the board select the
alternate delegate. The motion passed unanimously.

CHAPTER REPORTS

*	Rick James reported on the At Large Chapter.
*	Sheila Leigland reported on the Great Falls Chapter.
*	Robert will check on a room at the library for a possible Missoula
Chapter.

2022 Convention

*	There was discussion regarding where to hold the 2022 convention.
*	Robert will check on possibilities in Butte and Missoula including
the Fairbridge.

Other Business

*	Robert Jaquiss and Samantha Chase were introduced as the Newsline
Coordinators.
*	A motion was made to honor Travis and Lyle and not draw a grand
prize this year. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

*	The meeting was adjourned at: 5:00PM
