In Tuesday's Butte paper, The Montana Standard, the front page article is about a Montana Tech assistant computer science professor who is developing an app for hand held devices to allow a blind person to swipe letters with their fingers on a screen to send texts. The professor is Keith Vertanen and he is working with some blindfolded volunteers to develop the program. His main assistant is Haythem Memmi from Tunisia. They are also working with Per Ola Kristensson from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Maybe someone from our group should get in touch with these guys and give them some feedback from the blind.
