Marlene Samuels

Great Falls ---Marlene Mae (Dwello) Moser Samuels, 60, of Great Falls, a 
former Head Start teacher, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 after a 
brave battle with cancer, at Peace Hospice.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Vineyard 
Christian Fellowship, 1617 6th Avenue North, at 5:00 pm, with a potluck 
luncheon to follow. Cremation has taken place under the direction of 
O'Connor Funeral Home.

Marlene was born October 17, 1952 in Cut Bank to Earl and Elsa Dwello. 
She was raised in Kevin with her four siblings. She attended Sunburst 
High School and went on to attend Montana State University College of 
Technology, studying Early Childhood Development.

On September 23, 1972 Marlene was united in marriage to August Ludwig 
Moser in Shelby. They remained together until August's passing in March 
of 1999. She later met Gene Andrew Samuels and the two were married 
August 14, 2003 in Great Falls.

Marlene had and extensive work history. She worked for Opportunities 
Inc. as a Head Start teacher for over 30 years, civilian catering 
service for MANG for 25 years, Montana Association for the Blind for 16 
years, United Sates Forest Service firefighter

for 2-4 years, and was a State Fair worker in the Arts and Crafts 
building for six years.

She participated in the Great Falls MAB chapters and was a Brownie Girl 
Scouts Leader of 3-4 years. She was involved in many different bowling, 
dart, and pool leagues, and tap danced at the Moose Lodge for five 
years. She truly enjoyed being a fan and booster at the ballpark for 
over 28 years; supporting the Dodgers, White Sox, and Voyagers.

Marlene enjoyed spending time with little children, camping, canning, 
reading Nora Roberts novels, sewing, listening to Reba McIntire, plants, 
and bears. She was a very caring person and was very selfless giving to 
those in need.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Gene Samuels of Great Falls; mother 
Elsa Irene (Spitzer) Dwello of Havre; step-daughters Cindy Tollman and 
Xan Samuels of Idaho; son Earl Moser of Great Falls; step-son Kirk Moser 
of Great Falls; sisters Collene Tustin of Oregon and Earlene DeWinter of 
Havre; brother David Dwello of Conrad; six grandchildren; and friends 
Mary Laskey and Kay Stevens.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, August Moser; and 
brother Fred Dwello.

Memorials are suggested to Montana Association for the Blind Summer 
Orientation Program.
