NFB Washington Seminar Hill Appointments Alert
Affiliate Presidents and Affiliate Legislative Directors:
The excitement is building around our 2014 Washington Seminar, which
will take place from Monday, January 27 thru Thursday, January 30.
Plans are being made to conduct a Legislative Directors seminar on
Sunday, January 26, and our Great Gathering In will start promptly at
5:00PM on the evening of Monday, January 27. The 2014 Legislative
Agenda of Blind Americans and the list of our 2014 legislative issues
will be published and distributed soon.
Hopefully, you have begun scheduling your Hill appointments starting on
Tuesday, January 28 through Thursday, January 30. Please refrain from
scheduling appointments with congressional members or staff on Monday,
January 27.
Remember, if your member of Congress serves on a key committee for one
of our legislative issues, a member of the NFB Governmental Programs
staff may be attending the meeting with you. Moreover, if you feel it
would be helpful for a staff member to attend a meeting, please let us know.
As you schedule your Hill Appointments, please email the following
information to: hillappointments at nfb.org.

It is very important that this information be kept current. Therefore,
if your appointment date or time changes before or during seminar week
please call the Mercury Room at 202-554-0361 and provide us with the
new date and/or time of the meeting.
Social Media Notes:
Facebook users can visit the NFB Facebook page for status updates. If
you take a photo with your member of Congress, please email it to
Jessica Freeh at jfreeh at nfb.org so that she can upload it to our Facebook page.
Twitter users can follow @NFB_VOICE for up to the minute updates on the
seminar. Please use #NFBWS14 as the hashtag when tweeting about the
2014 NFB Washington seminar.
Note: There are many aps that provide you with congressional
information. I recommend a free app that has proven to be very useful
for obtaining information about legislators and legislation: Congress
by Sunlight Foundation.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in D.C.
