[Nfbmt] How should I put this?

Thank you, David, for posting this and sharing with us the history, and
remembrances.
I agree wholeheartedly, in your assessments, and treasure both their
memories, of Lelia and Virginia, as well as others, whose names pop into my
mind, as time moves along.

I wish we could get together in Orlando. I will buy you a Montana size
sandwich, or sing you a verse from Home on the Range. Your choice.
But, are you going to be able to join us?

Now, everyone.
Here is a quick bit of news from the state of Washington, that I learned
just last night, from my roommate at NFB Rosen Central in Orlando, Jim
Portillo.
Perhaps you have already heard this.
Jim is the technology instructor at the Washington state agency's training
center.
Their state legislature is bound up in this nasty bit of political gridlock.
And word came down on Monday that the training center will be shut down,
hence all employees to be laid off, at least temporarily.
Awful news, huh?

That is my news for today.
But many thanks everyone for the ideas and information about food places,
and food in the room, and so on.
We have been doing the raw juice regimen around our household the past few
months.
No way am I figuring to be able to stick to that next week. But hopefully I
will not go too far the other way, either.

This is the time for me to get my stuff in order. My goodness. This? That?
The other thing? No, no. That other thing. You know, the one right behind
that other other thing. Yes, take that, if you have room. Okay?

Good luck.
He said to himself, muttering under his breath, that he will need luck, and
more. (grins all way around.)

Rik

I wanted to drop in a little message about Lelia Proctor for this
discussion. When I was up there, I talked to her often by phone and visited
in her home on at least one trip to Kalispel. She was most definitely a
Federationist through and through. She knew all the history firsthand and
was clear about the difficulty of the fight bound to come. As an employee of
the MAB I think she felt obligated to operate on a neutral basis as best she
could. Our discussions were open and frank. So much so that I felt the sting
of her criticism of me as a rehab worker. We were talking about the antics
of a former VSD employee and she says, "Well you're all a little lazy in my
view." I looked on her as an elder warrior in the fight we all share.

Just to give credit where it is due, I even felt like Virginia Sutich came
to understand our position as the years passed. I'm not saying she was whole
hog in the fight with us, just that she seemed forced by experience to give
serious consideration and perhaps some acceptance to our propositions. I
listened to her rememberances of the old battles in Montana and I think
Minnesota. She definitely had her opinions. But those views seemed to me to
soften over time.

I caught the NBC report on Harold and Sheila. It was very impressive. My
thanks to both of you guys for your service.

Yes, Diane McGeorge will definitely be at convention, drawing my name for
door prizes!
