Subject: Open Public Comment on the web
To:

Greetings,

The Disability Employment and Transitions Division has recently
updated its website. One of the new features of the web site is the
opportunity to provide public comment on any of the programs within
the division at any time. This is of particular note for those who
wish to make comment on two documents that provide guidance to two of
the larger programs in the division; Vocational Rehabilitation and
Independent Living. The two documents are the Vocational
Rehabilitation Services State
Plan<http://www.dphhs.mt.gov/detd/vocrehab/policy-documents.shtml> and
the State Plan for Independent
Living<http://www.dphhs.mt.gov/detd/independentliving/policy-documents.shtml>.

We welcome comments on these documents and recommendations for future
plans. And of course, we also welcome all comments on how to improve
any of the programs within the division. You may submit your comments
by clicking the following: Public
Comment<http://www.dphhs.mt.gov/detd/index.shtml>.

An important part of the public comment process is the development and
distribution of responses to comments. The following timelines have
been developed for responses submitted through the website. All
comments provided up to April 30 of each year will be responded to in
one document. That document will include the responses to comments
made through other venues such as the statewide public hearing meeting
and written comments that may come in during the year. The public
comment response document will be available by July 1 of each year.
The response document will be available at the link for the Vocational
Rehabilitation Services State
Plan<http://www.dphhs.mt.gov/detd/vocrehab/policy-documents.shtml>.

We hope you take advantage of this ongoing opportunity to review the
state plans and other information related to our programs on the new
website, and make comments that will help us in our efforts at
continuous improvement in serving Montanans with disabilities in their
quest for employment and independence.
