That's what they're working on.

I'm aware of Mark's car. I rode in it in Denver. It's impressive but
someone needs to perfect it so a blind person can drive to "places" with it.
Drive to the store, drive to the mall, drive to the airport things like
that. From what I saw, Mark can drive in a circle with assistance. Why not
use gps, talking computer technology and several other new technologies
together to build a car that a blind person can just go climb into, insert
his/ her key and drive where they want to go? With the right minds and
technology at one's disposal, I think it could be accomplished rather
easily. I think Mark has a great idea. He should get with the right people
and see what they can figure out. When Henry Ford invented the first model
T, he had to start from the ground up. Mark already has the basic car right
there.

They already are doing that. It's called the NFB. There is a demonstration
of it on YouTube. Mark Riccobono is one of the ones who had the chance to
drive it.

The general consensus seems to be that we all want to live in the country.
Someone needs to invent a car that a blind person can drive for real, just
like the sighted. I don't think it would be so hard with computer
technology the way it is.

We'd love to live in the country, too, but lack of transportation is
stopping us. Joy
