Hello, Fellow Federationists.
This is an exciting time in our history, and you can be a part of it.
On August 5, 2015, Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) introduced the Transitioning
to Integrated and Meaningful Employment (TIME) Act (S. 2001) in the United
States Senate. Senator Ayotte introduced this legislation to repeal Section
14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act, in order to incentivize the
transitioning of workers with disabilities into integrated, meaningful
employment, and to phase out the discriminatory practice of paying workers
with disabilities pennies per hour. To learn more about this important
legislation, read

-integrate-workers-disabilities> our press release and go to our

S. 2001 is the Senate version of House bill H.R. 188, introduced in the
House of Representatives by Congressman Gregg Harper of Mississippi on
January 7, 2015.
See the message from rose Sloan below, and following in a separate message,
the list of the Montana offices addresses and phone numbers for Senator Jon
Tester, Senator Steve Daines, and Congressman Ryan Zinke. Please
familiarize yourself with the TIME Act, then contact the office nearest you
and set up an appointment to discuss it face to face with your Senators and
Congressman while they are home on recess from Washington. If nothing else,
fax or send the fact sheet for the TIME Act and ask them to cosponsor it in
the House or Senate. The sooner we do this, the sooner we may get this
passed. This is urgent. Please let me know when you have successful
contacts, and in what form, whether they be face to face or fax. Thank you.

While we encourage everyone to take a moment to celebrate the introduction
of Senator Ayotte's bill, it is now TIME for us to start finding cosponsors
for the TIME Act-in both the House and the Senate. Thank you to everyone who
has alerted us of their efforts to secure meetings with their
representatives. We now encourage you to try to set up meetings with your
senators while they are home.
In January, some of you told us that your senator said: "I'd be willing to
cosponsor a bill like that, but I do not want to introduce." It's TIME to
remind them of their promises. It's TIME to pass the TIME Act, my friends!
Yours in the fight for fair wages, which is one step closer to becoming
reality,
